Vision

To help each student develop as an individual in his/her own right to make choices and set goals based on their strengths and also acquire life skills required to achieve the success in their chosen goals.

Our Objectives

  • To make our 9th and 10th grade students more aware of themselves through Activities and psychometric assessments
  • Expose our studenst to various career choices and suggest most appropriate career path.
  • To enhance their basic life skills for building confidence and overall improvement.

Introduction

A program on Life Skills and Career Guidance has been conceptualized by the Commissioner of School Education, A.P. in Dec 2018 for assisting the 9th and 10th class students, covering various topics related to Life Skills, Career Guidance and Self Assessments. A robust process has been followed to select the implementation partners to develop the module and implement the project across Andhra Pradesh reaching out to 7.5 Lakh+ children from 5,351 schools. Nirmaan Organization has been allotted Ananthapur, Kadapa, Krishna, Kurnool and Vizianagaram districts for program implementation.

Program Description

Nirmaan Organization has recruited about 160+ trainers and about 15+ senior resource persons have been supporting the implementation of the project. The project is directly overseen by the governing board members of Nirmaan Organization. Each district has been allotted a district coordinator, a regional divisional coordinator followed by senior trainers and trainers. There were several challenges in terms of transport to interior places, the cyclone effect in December 2018 in Andhra Pradesh but Nirmaan has ensured to reach out to every school before the academic year ended. A psychometric test has also been carried out to all the 9th grade students across Andhra Pradesh.

Key Activities

  • Design and Development of 10 hours of life skills and career guidance modules
  • Recruit, train, monitor the trainers and master trainers on the modules
  • Monitor the program implementation on the ground
  • Impact assessment of every session by collecting baseline and endline assessment
  • Take psychometric assessment tests of all students in schools where feasible
  • Attach all the students to the toll free number for any further queries
