A dedicated team of 7 members from Nirmaan conducted a full-day workshop on Life Skills & Career Guidance
(LSCG) for the 10 intermediate students (Govt. School pass-outs) who are back to India after attending a one year
US exchange program, channelled through US Consulate, AFS (American Field Service). The workshop was held
on 26 th Oct 2019 at St. Francis College for Women, Hyderabad.
The workshop encompassed the various Life Skills management techniques and a detailed Career Guidance on the
wide range of career opportunities available in order to help these youngsters have a flourishing career, thereby
contributing towards the attainment of United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The workshop was designed with a mix of activities and interesting sessions to empower these youngsters for the
Journey of a meaningful and purposeful Life.
The motivational video being showed at the beginning of the session ignited the spark among the participants to do
something BIG, despite all the adversities that the universe throws upon them in the due course of life. A
psychometric test, taken up by the participants helped them have a better understanding of themselves, thereby
enhancing self-awareness. It even aided them with the capability to do a SWOT analysis for making a choice of the
apt career pathway.
The valuable mantras and success stories shared by the CEO, Founder of Nirmaan, Mr Mayur Patnala helped
students understand the broader dimensions of life so, they could aim at the attainment of “Global Goals”. The
participants were thrilled with Mr Mayur’s idea of “To do something which would lead to our stories being told to
the masses and eventually setting examples at global platform should be our Motto in Life.”
The session with all the members from team Nirmaan, highlighting upon their career building and hardships faced
while shaping their career pathway gave the participants a broader picture on career building aspects. It was an
amazing session wherein the “Gen Zs” could interact with the “Millennials” and learn from their life experiences.
The understanding of the participants on the key aspects of LS&CG was evaluated through the assessments and small
assignments carried out during the session. The workshop was concluded with the feedback session which was a
reflection of the participants take-aways from the workshop wherein each participant shared their experiences and
valuable feedback.
