Workshop on Digital Literacy for Tribal Welfare Teachers

A 3-day workshop on Digital Literacy was organized from November 19,2019 to November 21,2019 for 75 Tribal welfare Government school teachers at Infosys, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
The event was inaugurated by honorable Chief Guest, Dr. Christina Z Chongthu, IAS, Commissioner of Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Telangana, in presence of the dignitaries, Dr. Naveen Nicholas Joint Director TWD, Government of Telangana, Mr. Krishna Aditya, IAS, PO, Utnoor, Mr. Venkat T, Vice President, CSR Forum Lead, HYSEA, Mr. Abdul Waheed, Director, Nirmaan organization and Mr. Mayur Patnala, CEO, Nirmaan Organization.
The Day-1 of the workshop began with a session on Basics of Computers, its Hardware components and an Introduction to the Digital devices taken up by Mr. Jalalludin. The trainee teachers then had an interactive session with Mr. Mayur Patnala, followed by a session on “Software and its Importance” delivered by Ms. Neerja, Infosys. An overview of the Software Industry and basic computer applications were also dealt during the session.
Day-2 of the workshop was focused on delivering MS Office suite to the trainees. The session was facilitated by Ms. Renuka & Mr. Praneeth, Infosys, Mr. Srikanth, State Street and Mr. Sudheer, Nirmaan on their respective areas of expertise. A basic level of assessment was conducted to test their level of understanding and the teachers performed well in the assessment.
The last day of the workshop witnessed session on E-schools (lesson delivery through satellite), Tab lab operations and Digital lab operations by the Tribal Welfare Department Experts. The trainee teachers made team presentations based on their learnings from the workshop. The trainees found the workshop to be insightful and informative.
The event came to an end with the valedictory ceremony in the gracious presence of Mr. B.P Acharya, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Director General MCR HRD, Dr. Naveen Nicholas, Joint Director, TWD, Government of Telangana , Mr. Debashish Ganguly, Associate Vice President, Infosys, Ms. Vijay Lakshmi, Deputy Director Education, Mr. Venkat T, Vice President and CSR Forum Lead, HYSEA, Mr. Abdul Waheed, Director, Nirmaan organization and Mr. Mayur Patnala, CEO, Nirmaan Organization.
The trainees were awarded with certificate of participation at the end of the workshop.
