UST has come forward to support these families by Giving Relief and Rehabilitation particulars items to Immediate Support Need for them to regenerate Livelihood as usual. It was really extended and had great support in that Community and to the families.

450 blankets were donated to Department of Women Development and Child Welfare orphanage at Yousufguda and 150 blankets were donated at Amma Nanna Old Age Home at Choutuppal. The beneficiaries of the blanket distribution are orphan girls and inmates of old-age homes. This event was attended by HYSEA representatives, WDCW Department officials, and Amma Nanna Old Age representatives.

Local community volunteers also supported Nirmaan Organization in smooth operations of the event. Representative from RealPage personally attended the event at Kabir Nagar.

We had 50 beneficiaries from Addagutta and Borabanda VTC for this session. Seed-ball dispersal is method of compensatory afforestation adopted to in order to rejuvenate denuded forest land. Seeds of native trees are collected from the forest, and rolled within a ball of clay with additives like humus or compost, and dispersed manually or by air. The success rate of germination is higher than for seeds. A total of 52,000 seed balls have been dispersed till date and a total of 3,00,000 will be dispersed during the monsoon season in Kadthal Reserve Forest which comes within Cyberabad Police limits.

"Tribal Digital Leadership Program": The future Digital Leaders are handed over digital devices for 'Online Learning' through hands of Smt Sathyavathi Rathod, Distinguished Minister & Hon'ble Dr Christina Chongthu, IAS, Hon'ble Secretary to Govt of Telangana.
Tribal Digital Leadership Program aims to nurture 60 tribal girls as "Digital Leaders" by 60 corporate employees. This program is run by Tribal Welfare Dept, GoT in partnership with HYSEA & nirmaan.org.

Today, Nirmaan, in collaboration with the Coca-Cola Foundation and United Way of Mumbai, has donated 10,500 masks and 14,000 sanitizers to 3,500 Anganwadi workers working in Telangana.
Smt. Satyavathi Rathod, Minister, Women and Child Welfare and Tribal Welfare, was the Chief Guest for the donation event at the Women and Child Welfare Commissionerate today. Smt. Divya Devarajan IAS, Secretary and Commissioner of Women and Child Welfare, Mr. Mayur Patnala Founder and CEO Nirmaan Organization also participated in distribution of the items to the workers.

Google in partnership with United Way Mumbai has rolled out a special edition of ‘Summer Camp with Google for Children of Medical Staff Workers’ as they noticed that due to the pandemic COVID-19, the ‘Healthcare Professionals’ being the Frontline workers, their children are highly affected.
As a part of this campaign, Google team is providing these children (13-16 yrs of age) with a Google device named ‘Google Nest’ through which they will be allocating an assignment to them and also Jio Dongles for those who don’t possess internet facility. All the assignments submitted will be evaluated and the winners will be awarded with ‘Celebrity Sessions’ followed by ‘Graduation Ceremony’. The idea behind is through this ‘Fun yet Educational Series of Sessions’ followed by brainstorming assignments, Children will get an opportunity to explore a variety of Google Applications and become tech savvy.
As part of Operation Sahaaya 4.0, to support the fight against COVID-19, Nirmaan has facilitated the donation of 7 Ventilators to Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS), Govt. of Telangana with donations supported by D. E. Shaw India Pvt. Ltd. for 4 Ventilators and EPAM Systems for 3 Ventilators.

A TOT session has been initiated for the trainers at our Vocational Training Centers for Women (VTC), Skill Development & Entrepreneurship team, Nirmaan. The sole objective of the initiative is to equip the trainers with ‘Bag making Skills’ and thereby expand their skill base. 12 participants from various VTCs have been nominated for the training sessions.
The TOT Program has begun on July 23, 2020 and is scheduled for 2 months, wherein the participants would be trained in making 20 varieties of bags. Upon completion, the trainers will impart training to all Nirmaan VTC Project beneficiaries across all VTCs.
The beneficiaries, upon acquiring the skills will help meet the increased number of orders for Bags received at ‘Threads of Hope: Social Entrepreneurial Venture’, an intervention of Nirmaan which aims at providing a platform to underprivileged women to design, manufacture and market their products and earn a decent livelihood. The training is being imparted by Ms Lakshmi Shetty, Threads of Hope Coordinator and Expert Trainer.
We at Nirmaan joined hands with Mr. M.A. Mujeeb Patel, Retired Forest Section Officer to feed underprivileged people at Tandur, Vikarabad, Telangana.
Mr. Mujeeb, who previously worked in remote tribal areas decided to devote his life to social work and began distributing free food packets to more than 100 poor and needy every day at Tandur. It’s been four years now since July 22, 2016, he is self-financing his project and accepts generous donations from people who support this project. The current prevailing crisis situation due to COVID-19 pandemic added greater zeal to his work and he doubled up the feeding operation.
Nirmaan decided to sponsor the project by donating Rs. 10,000/- to feed the underprivileged for 5 days at Tandur. The project activities were carried out from July 4- 8 under Nirmaan’s banner at 4 locations across Tandur (Tandur Govt. Hospital, Sunday Church, Near Railway Parking & Railway Station), wherein 500 people were fed over 5 days.
Under ‘Swayam Shakti’: Nirmaan’s initiative to empower underprivileged women during the global pandemic COVID19, 107 women beneficiaries were engaged in making masks upon receipt of the order from the donor.
The order was delivered in 10 days and the total wages earned by the beneficiaries from the order amounts to Rs. 3,48,075/-This is a great help to the beneficiaries as it boosted them financially.

The women beneficiaries engaged in mask-making are earning wages which is helping them earn decent livelihood.
The masks are available for sale at Nirmaan’s online platform, https://swasha.nirmaan.org/ For every 1000 masks, a woman and a local weaver can earn livelihood for 1 month.
The global pandemic, COVID- 19, on one hand has led to increased unemployment causing financial hardships and on the other hand it has created huge demand for facial masks. The high demand of facial masks resulted in inadequate availability and increase in the price of masks making it unaffordable for the masses. This situation demanded well thought action plan and execution to make adequate number of masks available to contain the spread of the virus.

We received orders of masks from various corporates, 3,108 from Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), 43,680 from VMware and 8,000 from Synchrony.
The beneficiaries who have undergone training in our Vocational Training Centers under our ‘Women Empowerment Program’ and ‘Threads of Hope’ were engaged in mask making. The clothes were purchased from the weavers of Pochampally and Narayanpet. 93 women produced 70,952 masks in a tenure of one month. Wages of approximately Rs. 5 lacs were paid to the women working on the project. The initiative could provide economic resilience to the women and the weavers.
Under our COVID-19 relief campaign, ‘Operation Sahaaya’, we at Nirmaan have distributed ‘Ration Kits’ to 50 beneficiaries in Surabhi Colony, Serilingampally, Hyderabad on June 27, 2020.
Mr. Jayanand, President, Surabhi Drama Company, Serilingampally approached Nirmaan to seek help for local movie/drama artists who work in the film industry (doing petty roles and other jobs), and are mostly have less/no work during lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The need assessment was done by team Nirmaan and Mr. Jayanand actively participated in various activities throughout the event. The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the generous support during this critical situation.
Venkata Sai Green (VSG) City Community members sponsored ‘Ration & Hygiene Kits’ for 15 underprivileged women beneficiaries, who have been trained under Nirmaan’s Women Empowerment Program at Vocational Training Center, Fateh Nagar, Hyderabad. The initiative was aimed at helping the underprivileged women combat the crisis situation due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
The beneficiaries selected, post need assessment, were in dire need of support as they are either widows, divorcees, orphans or women whose husbands are suffering from severe medical conditions or have undergone major surgeries which has led them to be permanently bed-ridden.
The kits comprised of Rice, Flour, Pulses, Oil, Sugar, Salt, Turmeric, Chilli powder, Tamarind, Semolina and Sanitary Napkins (to ensure health and hygiene of the women). Sri Mayur Patnala, Founder & CEO, Nirmaan presided over the event and personally interacted with the beneficiaries. Team Nirmaan, Fateh Nagar co-ordinated the event. Mandal Parishad Primary School (MPPS), CNN Thanda, Madhapur has been adopted by Nirmaan under its School Adoption Program (SAP). The children studying in the school hail from underprivileged families where it is difficult for their parents to arrange daily meals in this crisis situation due to COVID-19 pandemic.

We at Nirmaan, approached the community leaders along with Anganwadi centers, GHMC Officers, Slum Level Federation (SLF) members and Self- Help Group (SHG) members to conduct need assessment of the underprivileged families in the communities near Addagutta, Borabanda and Fatehnagar, Hyderabad.
Upon survey, 1200 families who were in dire need of our support were identified. Most of them work as house-helps, construction site labourers, daily wage labourers, drivers, street vendors, etc., Some of them are the migrant workers. In the first week of June 2020, we distributed ‘Pre-mix Food Packets (Instant Khichdi mix)’ to these families. Each food packet weighed 2 kgs and could serve a family of 4-5 for approximately 5-6 days.
In Addagutta, we distributed the food packets in Mangar Basti, Mondibanda Nagar, Lalaguda and Tukaram gate and in Borabanda, it was distributed in Sriram Nagar, Karmika Nagar, Saibaba Nagar, Vinayakrao Nagar and Saradhi Nagar.
Employees and Volunteers of Nirmaan Bangalore chapter have visited the community and they realised that people use dupattas or towels to wrap around their face which is not very safe as they continue using these later without putting it for wash. Also, most of the kids were roaming around without mask.
We distributed around 5,500 masks to the children and people in various communities and covered the areas in Gundelpet (tribal settlement), Bangarpet (near Kolar), Domlur village and Veerenahalli. The community people were very happy and thanked us for the support. SPARK volunteers have helped us with the distribution.
We have partnered with Meesho to provide us with the cloth masks. The masks are made by the resellers of Meesho, mostly homemakers, who wanted to help the nation during these times and earn something. We heartily congratulate and appreciate the efforts by Team Meesho and SPARK for supporting us with this initiative!!
Under COVID-19 relief campaign ‘OPERATION SAHAAYA’, Nirmaan Team, Fateh Nagar distributed 100 ‘Ration Kits’ among the socio- economically underprivileged women on June 7, 2020.
The kits comprised of basic grocery items with soaps and masks to ensure health and hygiene of the beneficiaries and were sponsored by Jyothirmayee Foundation. The team did a need assessment and identified 100 beneficiaries (women) based on the social status comprising of widows, divorcees, orphan girls and abandoned women. The women whose spouses lost jobs during COVID-19 pandemic were also taken into consideration. Some of the beneficiaries belong to the below poverty line category. Most of the beneficiaries are migrant workers working in the factories, some are auto/ cab drivers, street vendors, domestic helps, etc.,

During this Covid-19 emergency situation, there is a dire need to support Frontline Healthcare Workers with PPE Kits to ensure their safety. To support and empower ‘Government Healthcare system’ tackle this emergency, a total of 2,290 PPE Kits were distributed to Healthcare Workers in Government hospitals on June 6, 2020.
860 kits were handed over to Dr. M Rajarao, Superintendent and Dr. Sheshadri, RMO, Gandhi Hospital and 480 kits were handed over to Dr. Murali Krishna, Superintendent and Dr. Jagadeesh, RMO, Niloufer Hospital, Hyderabad. The kits were sponsored by D.E. Shaw India Pvt. Ltd. through Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) India.
In addition to this, more 950 PPE Kits were donated to Gandhi Hospital, sponsored by HSBC Software Development (India) Pvt. Ltd. and the activity was facilitated by United Way of Mumbai. The management, Gandhi Hospital awarded Nirmaan with ‘Letter of Appreciation’ for our COVID-19 relief work.

Nirmaan Vidya HelpLine (VHL) and Women Empowerment Program (Vocational Training Centers for Women/VTC) reached a big milestone!!! We successfully completed 10 years on May 22, 2020. In this journey, so far, at VHL we could impact over 14.43 Lakh students directly with over 62 Lakhs+ counselling/information sessions and we look forward to make every student choose the most appropriate career and contribute for themselves and the nation.
On the other hand, under our Women Empowerment Program, through our VTCs, we could impart training to 4691 women on various courses like tailoring, beautician, maggam work, silk thread jewelry making, basic computers, etc., Among the trained, 70 % were placed (direct placement or provided guidance with various employment opportunities). We look forward to empower more women thereby helping them being economically independent.
Under Operation Sahaaya- 4.0: Response to COVID-19, We, at Nirmaan, have distributed “GoMo Packets” (Nutritional Dal Crunchies/ TATA TRUSTS~MARS COLLABORATION) to more than 2000 families across Telangana & Maharashtra to bridge Nutritional Gaps in India.
The Visakhapatnam gas leak, also referred to as the Vizag gas leak, was an industrial accident that occurred at the LG Polymers chemical plant in R. R. Venkatapuram village near Gopalapatnam on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, during the early morning of 7 May 2020.
We at Nirmaan, collaborated with vizagsafe.in (Impact Lead Partner), other NGOs and Volunteers to extend our support to the victims of Vizag Gas Leak Tragedy and raised Rs. 2 lacs for the noble cause.
Nirmaan Andhra Pradesh Chapter, led by Jai Krishna, procured the materials and handed it over to our Impact Lead Partner who ensured on ground distribution of the essentials. Food supplies for people and animals were distributed in the affected areas. Protective gear (100 units of face shields, 100 units of 3-ply surgical masks and 300 units of surgical hand gloves) were also provided to the Police personnel, serving people of three villages who were evacuated due to the tragedy and Journalists on ground.
Amidst lockdown, during the global pandemic, COVID-19, Nirmaan has taken an initiative to empower its employees with ‘Self- grooming sessions’. 25 participants from various departments are taking up online ‘Communications and Soft Skills’ sessions for 2 hours every day. The sessions are facilitated by one of our in- house facilitators.
“The sessions are highly informative and is helping me learn new things and improve upon my communications”, says Ms Jyothi, one of the participants.
The trainees who have been undergoing Tailoring course at various Nirmaan Vocational Training centers are engaged in mask making. The masks stitched by these trainees are aimed to be donated to the Anganwadi Workers.
The trainees indulged in mask making hail from underprivileged families, wherein their husbands do odd jobs to earn livelihood. During this lockdown, they do not have a stable source of income and are struggling even to arrange meals for the day.
Nirmaan, identified the need and engaged the women in mask making activities, thus financially assisting the families in need.

We were handed over a consignment of facial masks for 4500 Anganwadi workers across Hyderabad, Kothagudem & Adilabad districts of Telangana. Over 400 Infosys employees gave donations. These masks are manufactured by prisoners of Telangana Prisons department. Team Nirmaan powered this initiative.
A total of 218 ‘Ration & Hygiene Kits’ were distributed among the needy hailing from various communities in Hyderabad. The kits were sponsored by our CSR Partner ADP India Pvt. Ltd. The kits were distributed in the Nirmaan Vocational Training Centers (VTC) at Fatehnagar, Addagutta & Borabanda, Hyderabad.
Need assessment of the beneficiaries at Nirmaan VTC, Addagutta was done by Ms. Bhagya (Slum level federation resource person) alongwith the center team, wherein 55 families were identified. The families identified are majorly migrants from other states and those who don’t hold ration cards and thus unable to get benefited under govt schemes during lockdown. They stay in Manger Basti (slums) and Mondibanda nagar in Addagutta. The beneficiaries felt happy upon receiving the kits.
Ms. Anitha (beneficiary) says, “My husband is a car driver and we have three kids. Due to lockdown, my husband doesn’t have enough earnings to feed our children. Thank You Nirmaan and ADP for helping us with Ration & Hygiene Kit.”
Maharashtra is one of the majorly affected areas in India by COVID-19 and hence, Nirmaan decided to cater basic needs of the underprivileged in various communities in Pune to help them tide over the lockdown period. Nirmaan Pune team, Ms Rajashree Bhosale, Ms Shrikant Lalita and Ms Pratibha Bansode approached the Local NGO, community leaders, social activists and volunteers to carry out the need assessment in various areas in Pune to identify the target beneficiaries.
With the help of a local NGO, Kashtakari Panchayat, who works for the ‘Ragpickers’ and other community leaders 150 families were identified, who are underprivileged and do odd jobs (rag pickers, daily wage workers, etc) for earning their livelihoods. Due to the ongoing lockdown, they aren’t able to go to work.
Nirmaan has been awarded a ‘Letter of Appreciation’ by Kashtakari Panchayat for carrying out this initiative.
Under our ‘Operation Sahaaya- 4.0: Response to COVID-19’, we started planning on 1st April 2020 to make a survey to gauge community needs in the Veerenahalli Community, Bangalore.
In the first phase, we planned to cater 100 families in need. We listed 60 families who need immediate support. Meanwhile, we started raising funds. In 3 days, we could manage to raise funds for the 60 families. Eventually, we placed an order for the ‘Ration kits’ and distributed it to the families in need.
The families felt immensely happy to receive the ration kits and they thanked Nirmaan team for extending a helping hand in this crisis scenario. "You guys did a great job, I heartily congratulate you. You have a bright future. God bless you" Says Pavitra (School staff).
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a five-member team from Nirmaan paid a visit to ZPHS Kothaguda, Hyderabad and spent time with the teachers and high school students. Today’s children are the future citizens of our country and thus there’s a need to direct their thoughts towards having a progressive India.
The event commenced with an interaction with the school teachers and an interactive session with the students of Grade 7-9 was then carried out. The session was focused on Girl/ Women Empowerment where discussions were made on aspects like achievements and contribution of Women in the society, gender equality, need of girl/women empowerment, reasons why men should respect women and treat them equally. It was an interactive session and the students actively participated in the discussion.
The teachers shared their words of wisdom and encouraged girl children to be strong and pursue a flourishing career. They even motivated the boys to treat women/girls respectfully. The session was insightful and inspiring for the students. Some of them stepped forward to share their learnings and thoughts on the occasion. They sang songs and recited poetry which added an entertaining flavour to the occasion.
Nirmaan Vocational training centers (VTC) are exclusively run for women wherein, they are being trained in various vocational courses like tailoring, beautician, maggam work, candle making, food processing and ITES (Basic Computers). It’s an opportunity for all the women who are in need and have not been able to pursue their academic career to improve skills in their areas of interest, to become market ready and take up small jobs or start small business, thereby becoming financially independent.
International Women’s Day was celebrated in Nirmaan Vocational training centers to celebrate womenhood and boosting the women trainees, thereby empowering them.
A power point presentation on Nirmaan interventions was made to the dignitaries from Mother’s association. The cake cutting ceremony was held and the trainees actively participated in the fun activities.

Under this project Nirmaan has planned to provide ‘Protection Kits’ for Sanitation and Health Workers, ‘Ration and Hygiene Kits’ for Daily Wage Workers and Small Tribal Farmers, Thermal Guns for screening, Ventilators at Government Hospitals, Screening Kiosks including Thermal Screening Unit, handheld thermal guns and crucial consumables kit.
Efforts have been made to reach out to people and corporates to raise funds for fighting against the global pandemic. All Nirmaan employees have contributed a day’s salary to extend help to the corona victims.
Dr MCR HRD Institute, Hyderabad, Telangana has entrusted Nirmaan for engaging few officer trainees (OTs), undergoing training at the institute in Nirmaan’s activities as a part of Social Entrepreneurship. The activities were carried out for five days from 2nd to 6th March. Day 1, the officer trainees visited our Vidya Help Line (VHL) Center for Career Guidance initiative.
Day 2, the officers were taken to ZPHS Kothaguda, Hyderabad, where they were introduced to Nirmaan’s Educational intervention, School Adoption Program (SAP) and Disruptive Digital Intervention (DDI). The students felt privileged interacting with the officer trainees. Day 3 was scheduled to visit Nirmaan Future Ready- Youth Skilling Program, KPHB Center, Hyderabad. The OTs were briefed about the program followed by an interactive session for the center staff and students.
On the 4th Day, the officers visited the Vocational Training Center (VTC) for Women at Fateh Nagar, Hyderabad. They were detailed about the Program and various courses offered for empowering women and to help them become economically independent. The women trainees at VTC, Fateh nagar, interacted with the officers and shared their experiences. Day 5 was scheduled for an interaction of the Officer Trainees with the CSR Partners. The CSR Leaders from Synchrony, State Street, Cognizant, Infosys, EPAM and ServiceNow presented their CSR Initiatives. Sri Harpreet Singh, IAS, Additional Director General, MCRHRDI was invited for the session and he along with his Officers’ team have interacted with the CSR leads.
Pertaining to UN's Sustainability Development Goal, 13: Climate Action, Nirmaan organized Green India Challenge with the mission to wake up the dormant green soldiers of this nation and pave the way for a Greener India.
The agenda of Green India Challenge was to motivate an individual plant 3 trees and take the responsibility of nurturing those trees over the next 3 years. After the plantation of the trees, the individual will have to nominate 3 more individuals amongst her/his peers with the same challenge.
Smt. Divya Devarajan, IAS, Commissioner, Women Development and Child Welfare dept, Govt. of Telangana planted the first tree in her department followed by other participants. Sri Abdul Waheed, Director, Nirmaan, Sri Venkat T, Vice President, Synchrony, Dr. Ashok Agarwal, Sri L Prakasham, GB members, Nirmaan, Sri Mayur Patnala, CEO, Nirmaan along with his team graced the event. Women officers and Ground Staff from Women Development and Child Welfare Department also participated in the event and nominated their peers.
Mandal Upper Primary School, KPHB Colony, Kukatpally is run by Government of Telangana, and currently, 143 students from Grade 1 – 7 study in this school. The average class size is 25 students, and each classroom is allotted a teacher. The school lacks proper infrastructure and basic amenities like clean drinking water. Hence, a need was felt to do something for the students of this school.
The staff and the trainees of KPHB center contributed and sponsored School kits for the students of Grade 5-7. The kit included Exam Writing pads, books, pens and compass box. Snacks was offered to the primary school students and teachers.
Ms. Mamatha, Head Mistress of the school stated, “I appreciate the benevolence of the students of Nirmaan Skill Development center, KPHB which hardly exists in the present era, especially among well-educated youth”. The participant beneficiaries were overwhelmed as they experienced the ‘Joy of Giving’ to participate in the activity and pledged to carry on the legacy of giving back to the society.
Nirmaan was invited by DR. MCR HRD Institure to conduct a session for the All India Services officer trainees. During the session, Sri Mayur Patnala, CEO, Nirmaan Organization addressed 140 Officer Trainees (IFS, ITS, IPS, IPoS officers)
The session began with an overview of Nirmaan and its interventions in the context of the topic "Social Entrepreneurship in India - Challenges and Potential"
Various case studies encompassing Nirmaan’s interventions were discussed which included Development of Government Schools, Give Back Campaign, Career Guidance and Organic Farming. Both the Morning and Afternoon session batch officers were interactive and found the session insightful. The session was concluded with a Feedback Session.
HYSEA & Nirmaan organized Annual DDI Commendation Ceremony to recognize and acknowledge the 12 DDI Corporates for their impeccable contribution in the DDI initiative of HYSEA & Nirmaan. Sri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary, ITE & C department, Govt. of Telangana awarded the Business Leaders and CSR leaders with Certificate of Commendation.
All the 40 participants were briefed about the impact of the program. The need for Digital Literacy and setting up of more DDI labs was highlighted. Sri Jayesh Ranjan said that the major reason of Govt. School students lagging behind in this digital era is the lack of Coding Skills and Mentorship support. Hence, an appeal was made to the HYSEA members to extend their support for scalability and expansion to more government schools. The efforts of Nirmaan Organization as the implementation partner was highly appreciated.
‘Coding in Schools’ Program was also introduced during the event which would be implemented in 1000 Govt. Schools from June 2020 onwards. The participants were also informed about the ‘HYSEA Monthly Volunteering’ Program, wherein Sri Jayesh Ranjan invited all the Telangana employees to contribute for volunteering and Give Back to the society.
Nirmaan in collaboration with Synchrony, organised a visit to Mr Hari Babu’s Organic Farm, a horticulturist and farmer with over 40 years of experience. He provides services in providing guidance to farmers, guiding and training IT officials, building Nursery and promoting Natural farming techniques.
On the day, we hosted executives from Synchrony, Cognizant, HYSEA along with Sri Abdul Waheed, Director, Nirmaan Organization. The visit was aimed to provide corporate employees a first-hand experience of farming practices and techniques and create awareness about the normal hardships of farmers.
The volunteers actively engaged in activities like pruning, ploughing and planting saplings in the farm. The volunteers even pledged to directly buy from farmers in bulk quantities and to make small contributions so that they could help farmers lead a happier and sustainable life.
Clothes donation to Underprivileged Students made by Nirmaan Organization Project beneficaries.
A total of 53 dresses prepared by the beneficiaries undergoing training in tailoring course at Nirmaan Vocational Training Center, Fateh nagar were donated to the students of Primary School and Anganwadi at Kurmaguda, Balapur Mandal, Rangareddy District. The event was held on Jan 15, 2020.
School students and teachers expressed their gratitude towards Nirmaan Organization and requested for such donations even in the future.
Nirmaan Vocational training center, Addagutta trainees were taken for an industrial visit to Cherlapally on February 13.
The purpose of the visit was to give our trainees real time exposure and to make them acquainted with the advanced machines used in today's textile market and for motivation from the women workers in the textile industry.
A recreational session was also organized for the trainees and some outdoor games were played.
Nirmaan.org participated and bagged 1st and 2nd Prizes at National Young Entrepreneurs’ Summit 2020, held at Pune from Feb 5th-8th. The Summit was organized by CYDA (Center for Youth Development and Activities). The four-days event was an exposure for all the young entrepreneurs as they had a learning experience interacting with the successful entrepreneurs. The mentoring sessions were insightful. The budding entrepreneurs shared their success stories which motivated the participants. They could also learn from the unique business ideas presented at the Summit.
The winners were felicitated by Sri Nawab Malik, minority development, Aukaf, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister of Maharashtra. The 1st prize winner, Mallesh and Naveen presented the idea of ‘Anti-theft Keys’ for 2-wheelers. A cheque of Rs. 25,000/- was presented to them and were ensured all support and mentoring for their startup business. The 2nd prize winner, Kusuma, Jhansi and Vidyavathi, presented the idea of ‘Waste Management: Water Hyacinth’.
HYSEA/Synchrony in association with Department of School Education, Govt. of Telangana and Nirmaan Organization, conducted a 3-day workshop at Synchrony, Hi-Tech City, Hyderabad for 34 Government School Teachers nominated by the Department of School Education.
The workshop was held from 05 th -7 th Feb, 2020 with the objective to train the teachers to implement the ‘Coding in Schools’ program for the Code Beginner level for Grade 6 Students. Upon completion of the training, the program would be piloted in these 34 schools in this academic year.

EPAM is supporting the school with 10 computers along with lab Infrastructure and also a solar plant. A full-time IT trainer and coordinator was also appointed in the school.

Volunteers from Infosys conducted mock interviews for the trainees @ Nirmaan Youth Skill Development Center, Kukatpally. This helped them in boosting their confidence and the sessions on resume building, work place readiness and Business Etiquettes broadened their understanding on these aspects.

Organic Farm Visit near Shamshabad
The Sweat Donation Drive during the Organic Farm visit engaged the volunteers in simple farm activities like pruning, digging water pits around the plants and few other very interesting activities.
Exposure visit for beneficiaries @ Infosys Campus, Hyderabad
100 trainees from 5 Skill Development Centers were taken to the Infosys Campus for an exposure visit. The visit was aimed at making them aware about the Corporate Work Culture and boost their Workplace Readiness.
Mentoring @ Nirmaan Youth Skill Development Center, Kukatpally & Erragadda, Hyderabad
A team of 23 volunteers from Infosys visited Nirmaan Youth Skill Development Center, Kukatpally and Erragadda, Hyderabad on Jan 22, 2020. It was an insightful session, wherein the volunteers interacted with the trainees and discussed their stories and about their role models. This was followed by a one-on-one mentoring session on career guidance.
This New Year 2020, Nirmaan.org has initiated #Globalgoalsvolunteering program, to be held in the 3rd week of every month. The first of its kind initiative has been started from Jan 20, 2020 in partnership with Infosys.
Day 1: Jan 20, 1:00 pm-4:00 pm Career Counselling Workshop to 75 Govt. school students, ZPHS, Rajendra Nagar.
Day 2: Jan 21, 2:00 pm-5:00 pm Organic Farm Visit near Shamshabad: Basics of Organic Farming explained, Sweat donation drive that engages volunteers in simple farm activities like pruning, digging water pits around the plants and other interesting activities.
We had an eventful saturday with the students of Veerenahalli government higher primary school. We had volunteers coming and helping students with book reading for an hour and a half. We grouped the students based on their reading levels and each group had 4-5 students. There were other activities planned for the students post their reading sessions. We had divided the students into four groups and we had origami sessions, where students learnt to make a greeting card for independence day, we had best out of waste where students learnt to make newspaper bags, pen stand using the bottles, pencil pouch using bottles.
The main outcome of these sessions were to create awareness in the students on how best we can make use of the resources available and turn something that we throw into something useful. It was also to drive values such as collaboration, patience, creativity in students which is much needed in the 21st century.The main purpose of book reading is to help them to be comfortable with the language, help them get comfortable reading books that can enable them to learn english faster and better. It's also to help them understand how they can help each other with reading.
With the help of donors we were able to provide chairs to Nallikalli (1st and 2nd) students of the schools. We also donated a library cupboard to the school. This will also be our first step in building a library in the school.
Threads of Hope (TOH) setup a stall during the BITSAA (BITS Pilani Alumni Association) Global Meet 2020, from 17th to 19th Jan 2020. Threads of Hope provides a platform for women from underprivileged communities to create, manufacture and market various products.
12 different kinds of bags like tote bags, clutches, wallets, cosmetic bags, ipad sleeves, laptop sleeves etc. made by the women at Nirmaan’s TOH, Borabanda center were at display at the stall.
The attractive display caught visitor’s attention. We had a good response from many BITS alumni for our products, some came forward to support our work in myriad ways like training our women in new products, giving references to other events, connecting to their gifting organizers.

The summit was held on Jan 10, 2020 at DR MCR HRD Institute, Hyderabad, Telangana. The event catered to Nirmaan's commitment to the UN SDG of 'Decent Work & Economic Growth'. Smt. K Rama Devi, founder, ALEAP (The Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India), was the honourable chief guest for the event. The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Smt. Madhavi, member, ALEAP, Ms. Priya Kothari, board member, CYDA, Director, Youth Aid Foundation and initiator of YES. Sri Abdul Waheed, Director, Nirmaan Organization, Sri Mayur Patnala, Founder & CEO, Nirmaan Organization and Ms. Uma Kesani, Program Manager, Nirmaan Organization.
32 participants across Hyderabad participated in the summit and presented their unique business ideas. The ideas were judged by an experienced panel of judges. 21 participants with the best business ideas were selected for the National Summit to be held in Pune from 5th-8th February 2020. All the participants were awarded the ‘Certificate of Participation’ and the selected ones were awarded the ‘Certificate of Excellence’.
Nirmaan.org in collaboration with Infosys and Hysea organized a 3-day workshop (7th -9th Jan 2020) on Digital Literacy for 75 Tribal welfare Government school teachers at Infosys, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. This was the second phase of the TOT program and with this all the 150 teachers of the Ashram Schools have been given training on ‘Digital Literacy’.
The event was inaugurated by honorable Chief Guest, Smt. Vijay Lakshmi Deputy Director, Education in presence of other dignitaries, Sri Abdul Waheed, Director, Nirmaan Organization and Sri Mayur Patnala, Founder and CEO, Nirmaan Organization.
The teacher trainees developed an understanding on the hardware and software components and learnt MS Office Suite, efficiently. They made PowerPoint presentations and took up assessments, which helped the master/industry trainers gauge their understanding.

Under the HYSEA Disruptive Digital Intervention (DDI) Program powered by Nirmaan.org, a digital lab was inaugurated and a solar plant was set-up at the Nampally Vyayam Shala High School with the support of EPAM. The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Mr Shanti Kumar Chilumula, Director EPAM, Mr Abdul Waheed, Director Nirmaan, Mayur Patnala, CEO Nirmaan and HYSEA CSR forum lead Mr Venkat on 22nd December 2019.
The lab is equipped with 12 computers and an LED TV along with the internet connection and a 5 KW capacity solar power plant is installed in the school. Mr Sanjeev and Mr Venkatesh, volunteers from EPAM, also participated in the event.
Nirmaan with the support of NTT Data, HYSEA completed the Digital lab setup in Government School, Bollaram. The lab was inaugurated by Mr. Prasad Tipparaju, Senior Director NTT Data on 6th Dec 2019. Senior Directors Preetham and Abbay Edara, and 20+ volunteers from NTT Data also participated in the inauguration of the lab. Mr. Srini, COO, HYSEA and Mayur Patnala, CEO, Nirmaan and Mr. Vijay Kumar, HM and Nirmaan team members have also participated in the event.
Open Text and Nirmaan partnered to adopt CNN Thanda (Govt. school), Madhapur , Hyderabad. These are the 100 kids for whom we have started self defense classes for gender sensitisation. Sincere thanks to responsible companies who care about communities.

We have completed the setup of the computer lab at Zilla Parishad High School Attapur with the support of State Street Corporation and inauguration of the Lab on November 13, 2019. State Street Senior Vice President & Global head Mr. Joseph Hanssen inaugurated the lab. State Street Vice President’s Srinivasa Rao, Manjunath, and Naga along with Hysea Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Srini and In-charge Headmaster, Mr. Suman participated in the event. Also, Nirmaan Board of Director Mr. M.A. Waheed, IFS (Retd) participated in the event.
An exposure visit was arranged for the candidates undergoing tailoring course at VTC, Fatehnagar to get industrial exposure and inculcate workplace readiness in them. The visit was arranged by the placement co- ordinator at Ruchi Exports Unit (Lalita Garments) in Sanath Nagar, Hyderabad on November 11, 2019. A total of 40 beneficiaries along with four HSBC volunteers and Nirmaan officials participated in the exposure visit. The entire visit was done under the supervision of senior trainer, tailoring. An in-house fashion designer at Lalita Garments was in attendance throughout the visit and encouraged the beneficiaries by promising them home-based orders. The beneficiaries were explained about the new tailoring trends and techniques in depth and the latest machinery were exhibited by the factory owner, Mr. Arun Gupta. The beneficiaries were in total awe of the professional setting and felt motivated to take up the profession of tailor and get employed in a shop or being small scale entrepreneurs by taking up home-based business orders from similar organizations. The HSBC volunteers were also satisfied with the overall outcome of the visit and were positive throughout the session by actively engaging with the beneficiaries, Nirmaan Officials, and Factory owner.
A team of 7 members from Nirmaan conducted a full-day workshop on Life Skills & Career Guidance (LS&CG) for the 10 intermediate students (Govt School pass-outs) who are back to India after attending a one year US exchange program, chanelled through US Consulate & AFS (American Field Service). The workshop encompassed the various Life Skills management techniques and a detailed Career Guidance on the wide range of career opportunities available in order to help these youngsters have a flourishing career, thereby contributing towards the attainment of United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The event started with a warm welcome to the guests followed by an overview
of the project
status.
The trainees from each course (Tailoring/Beautician/Computers) had an active
participation
in the event. They shared the journey of their lives, the hardships, and how
Nirmaan
supported them to find a solution to their existing problems. The trainees
expressed their
gratitude for empowering them to face the challenges of life and equipping them
for being
economically independent. One of them said, " We women are birds and have
wings, but you
gave us the confidence to fly."
A display of the designed samples during the project activities caught the
visitors' attention.
The mobilization strategies for better outreach to the target community and
success stories of
the trainees at the centre were the major highlights of the detailed PPT
presentation made on
the project status.
At the closing of the event, hand-made lanterns were gifted to the visitors as a
token of
affection and gratitude which added to their delight. The dedicated involvement
of the
trainees throughout the event was highly appreciated.
A ToT session conducted by StateStreet for our DDI coordinators at
StateStreet office. Their team of 7 members led the initiative of providing
knowledge on latest technologies.

The event started off by introducing the children about the future
technologies through a PPT presentation. Later the children guided
by Kalyan visited the entire office and learned what the company does. Later on
the children along with the leadership team had an
interactive session with Brayn where children introduced themselves and about
their goals. There were many smart questions asked by the children.
The event followed by lunch and Syniverse gifted children with a school bag and
a Dairy.
1st Nirmaan National Skills & Entrepreneurship Training Workshop was held on 12th and 13th Oct 2019. The event aimed at providing a common platform to the entire Skills & Entrepreneurship team of Nirmaan Organization for better team co-ordination and enhanced learning. 60 participants from four different states Telangana(Hyderabad), Andhra Pradesh(Vizag), Karnataka(Bangalore) and Maharashtra (Pune) attended the event.They exchanged their valuable and unique ideas, strategies and methodologies for the improvisation of the processes, thereby aiming to upgrade the quality of service to the masses through the various Skills and Entrepreneurship projects at large.
The Goals for Girls (G4G) Leadership Summit was organized on 16th
September 2019 at Goshamahal Police
Grounds (from 16th Sep to 20th Sep). Nirmaan has mobilized girls from five
schools namely ZPHS Manikonda, GHS Yousufguda,
AGHS Adilabad, RDF Warangal and ZPHS Irwin to participate in the summit.
The G4G Summit was inaugurated by Director General of Police Shri. Mahender
Reddy Garu, Jackie Skinner,
Ali (G4G) along with Synchrony team. Chief Guest and other leaders gave
inspirational messages to the students.
The training went on for four days on various topics such as Awareness,
Communication, Team work,
Goals Setting. For the first 3 days the learning were through the Foot Ball
Game. Through Football game
instructors have motivated the Students that Girls can also play football and
are strong enough to do many things
in the real life. On the last day they were taught about goal setting how to
reach their goals.
Nirmaan participated in HYSEA Innovation Summit 2019 held at HICC Novotel on August 1, 2019. HYSEA as part of its Silver Jubilee celebrations partnered with Nirmaan to set up digital labs in Telangana. Disruptive Digital Intervention (DDI) is the signature initiative of HYSEA. Nirmaan is the knowledge and Implementation partner for the program.
DDI (Disruptive Digital Intervention) digital lab was inaugurated in KGBV Vikarabad on 20th June 2018 with the support of “Syniverse”. Students were provided fully equipped computer lab with 15 computers with internet, Projector and one full time computer trainer to enhance their digital skill for growth.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) has selected Nirmaan as the Knowledge Partner to School Education Department and as one of the three partners to impart "Life Skills and Career Guidance Program" for 7.5 Lakh children studying in 9th and 10th Grades in Govt. High Schools of Andhra Pradesh.
